Our Management Team

Kurtis R. Bray
Co-founder, Chief Executive Officer & President

Kurt brings extensive industry knowledge and operational experience in the lumber and building materials markets. Prior to co-founding Silvaris, Kurt was the President and owner of Marine Lumber Service, Inc., a 75 year old Seattle manufacturer and distributor of industrial lumber and building products. Kurt is also co-owner of Island Petroleum Services, a specialty distributor of petroleum products in Northwest Washington. Kurt sits on the Board of Directors of Buse Timber and Sales in Everett, Washington, a guest lecturer at the University of Idaho and is active in several non-profit organizations. Kurt holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Washington. 

Kevin D. Amoth
Chief Financial Officer

Kevin has over 20 years of management, finance and accounting experience in the software industry and consulting profession. Kevin spent five years in a controllership position with a leading software education publisher, overseeing all financial management of the company. He was actively involved in raising funds in SBIR government grants and joint development projects with corporate partners. Kevin has served as a senior consultant for a subsidiary of Moss Adams LLP, a leading West Coast C.P.A. and business advisory firm, leading and participating in financial systems deployment and integration projects with clients such as RealNetworks, Onvia, Acadio Corporation and Quebecor Integrated Media. Kevin holds a B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Pacific Lutheran University.

Troy M. Lundquist
Executive Vice President

Troy has over 15 years experience trading a broad range of industrial lumber products. Troy joined Silvaris in 2000 as the company's first trader, and as the company's leading trader, has been instrumental in building and guiding the trading team through rapid growth. Prior to Silvaris, Troy spent 8 years trading with Bacon Lumber Sales. Troy holds a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Transportation Geography from the University of Washington.

Lynn Buckalew
VP Business Development

Lynn has been with Silvaris since 2001. He manages new business development throughout the United States, with a particular focus on the furniture frames manufacturing industry. Prior to Silvaris, he was with North Pacific Group for 24 years. Lynn is a retired Brigadier General from the Mississippi National Guard, where he gave 34 years of service, 28 of which were in command and leadership roles. Lynn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Management from New York University.

Eric Miller
VP Panel Markets

Eric has 15 years of experience in the wood-based panels industry. Prior to joining Silvaris in 2001, he was a panel trader at North Pacific Group for 6 years. Before North Pacific he worked as a supervisor in the transportation industry. Eric leads a core group of traders that are focused exclusively on the company's various OSB marketplaces. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, and a minor in Business.

Perla Ruiz
Director of Credit Services

Perla runs our international, multi-lingual credit department. Perla graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California with a B.A. in Economics and is a Certified International Credit Professional (CICP) by the Association of Executives in Finance, Credit & International Business (FCIB). Prior to joining Silvaris, Perla worked at the Mexican Consulate in Seattle and was involved with several non-profit organizations working on immigration and homelessness issues.

Bob Scoverski
Director of Engineering

Bob entered the software industry in the mid 80’s as the personal computer emerged as a primary desktop business solution. Working in the industry for over 20 years, Bob has successfully adjusted to new technologies to produce high quality systems for customers, and has been lead architect on many consumer and enterprise software solutions. Prior to Silvaris, Bob worked for or produced software for companies including Boeing, Asymetrix, Microcrafts, MySoftware, Graphics Server and Optical Research Associates. Bob has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University.

Brett Robinson
Director of Logistics

Brett has over 12 years of Logistics management experience prior to coming to Silvaris. He owned and operated his own business which he sold to become the General Manager for a multi-million dollar Logistics firm that provided West Coast consolidated distribution services for Starbucks Corp. Brett joined Silvaris/LowGradeLumber in 2001 as one of the first employees. He has been instrumental in guiding the development of our proprietary Logistics software. Brett graduated with degrees in Business and Communications from Indiana Tech.  

Amy Cronin
Director of Marketing

Amy brings a broad base of experiences to Silvaris. Prior to joining the company, she was the marketing manager at ShipLogix, a Seattle-based transportation software company. She spent 8 years working in logistics in various capacities, including a stint launching a short line railroad from Eastern Washington to the port cities. Amy's marketing experience covers a number of vertical industries, including construction, logistics, and software. Amy has a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University.
